These Maven Coffee Challenge participants earned an honorable mention! Here’s what the Maven team had to say about each one: Jacqueline A.'s project was well-organized, client-focused, and very intentional. The challenge asked for an explanatory report, and Jacqueline's Tableau story was an excellent choice to clearly break down the visuals into three main sections. The visualizations are simple and uncluttered, and only the most important insights are highlighted. Each statistic/visualization feels intentionally included to best answer each question. ☕ https://lnkd.in/g7mjj-6U Neil Bagchi presented a very unique and interactive experience that pushes the limits of Power BI -- it's actually pretty fun to explore! This was a thoughtful approach to the data and analysis: - Survey demographics vs. population demographics - Competitive insights and comparisons (Starbucks + Dunks) - Breakeven analysis/calculator based on anticipated costs and pricing decisions Neil presents the underlying data in context and through storytelling, and doesn’t overwhelm the viewer by displaying everything at once. ☕ https://lnkd.in/gSMGWjeK Iwa Sanjaya's project was super approachable for someone who is not super data savvy! Iwa started his project by asking the question, "What are the things I need to know if I want to open a coffee shop?” and talked about the importance of branding. He uses a real-world example of a popular coffee chain from where he lives. This is definitely important and can sometimes be overlooked when focusing on all the data. You can have the best coffee in the world, but if you have no branding strategy or identity, nobody will give it a chance. ☕ https://lnkd.in/gPqwhxRH Saddam Ansari's project is clear, thorough, and has a logical thought process to his approach. He makes it very easy to follow his overall train of thought. This is an extremely thorough and well-presented analysis. There's a nice top-to-bottom flow of the report and a clear story that's told. Saddam's conclusion and recommendations are clear and provide investors with key data points to consider. ☕ https://lnkd.in/g3z2X-D4 Once again, Gerard Duggan shows that he's very aware of the business audience realities and steers clear of complex technical and statistical jargon or the urge to visualize everything available in the data. This project has clearly communicated assumptions and focus based on them. Gerard assumes that a coffee shop is a place you go to drink coffee, so he removes all those who drink coffee exclusively at home from the analysis. ☕ https://lnkd.in/g8Ar_Yzf This just goes to show how hard it is to narrow down the finalists and find a winner – well done to all, and stay tuned…👀 WINNERS coming 4/2!! #mavencoffeechallenge #data #analytics #dataviz #portfolio | 15 comments on LinkedIn
